Fall 2014 ITS Project Prioritization Cycle Is Now Open
The ITS Project Office is pleased to announce that the project prioritization proposal cycle for Fall 2014 is now open. Detailed information about how to submit a proposal, along with a full description of the process, can be found on the new ITS Project Office website at http://www.humboldt.edu/its/project-proposal-process. The deadline for submitting proposals is 5:00pm on Friday October 24, 2014.
How to submit your proposal
For any project or process improvement initiative that will require more than 20 hours of ITS time and the efforts of two or more ITS staff, you should submit your request on a Project Request Form. You can find the form on the ITS Project Office website at http://www.humboldt.edu/forms/sites/forms/files/ITS_ProjectRequest.pdf
Remember that the projecy prioritization process is for larger projects, and only a limited number of requests can be approved in each cycle. Please continue to use your normal channels for communicating with ITS staff regarding your day-to-day technology needs. Feel free to consult with anyone in ITS about any technology idea you may have, even if it's not (yet) a project request.
If you want to talk through your project ideas, get advice on how to best present your idea, or simply learn how to complete the form, please contact anyone in ITS with whom you're comfortable discussing the project. If you don't know anyone in ITS, just call the Project Office at x5080 and they will help you identify an appropriate person. For process improvement initiatives, please contact the Process Improvement Team at X5097.
The Project Office is offering one-hour open sessions on Monday October 6 and Thursday October 9; both sessions will run from 2pm to 3pm in GH 211C (the computer lab). Experts will be on hand to answer your questions about the prioritization process and guide you through the form.
