Reminder: Closing Windows at Night

Facilities Management, UPD, and Office of Sustainability would like to remind everyone to please close windows when you leave for the day. This keeps our buildings from unnecessarily heating the outdoors. In addition to saving heat/energy/money, closing your windows is essential for maintaining campus security overnight. Thank you for your help in creating an even safer and sustainable HSU environment in 2020.

Asbestos Notification

Each year HSU employees are notified of the presence of asbestos-containing materials (ACM) in campus buildings pursuant to the requirements of the California Health and Safety Code §25915.

Presentations on Campus Workplace Survey

In Spring 2019, HSU faculty, staff, and administrators participated in the Great Colleges to Work For program, a national survey designed to inform institutions about their work culture and recognize those that have built great workplaces.

ODEI Grants 2020-2021

The Humboldt State University Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion announces the Request for Proposals (RFP) for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Grants for 2020-2021.  A total of $30,000 in grants is available for the upcoming Academic Year.

Reminder: Presidential Investiture of Tom Jackson, Jr.

The campus community is invited to the Presidential Investiture ceremony for Tom Jackson, Jr. The event takes place on Wednesday, Jan. 15 at 2 p.m. in the Van Duzer Theatre. Guest seating and processional line-up begin at 1:30 p.m. 

Campus Orientation Programming

Dear Campus Community,

I would like to formally announce a change in departmental responsibility as it relates to our campus orientation programming. Dr. Eboni Turnbow and her staff in the Office of the Dean of Students will now be overseeing all activities related to orientation. This includes the online Canvas courses, on campus programming, and class registration. We are excited for this new transition and look forward to seeing all the great ideas that Dr. Turnbow's team will bring to the orientation program.

Reserved Parking for Globetrotters

In support of HSU Athletics & the Harlem Globetrotters, Parking & Commuter Services will be reserving lot FS51 (Faculty/Staff Lot adjacent to the Marine Wildlife Care Center), G50 (the lot just north of FS51 and south of the Kinesiology & Athletics Building) and G33 (Student Recreation Center) from 7:00am – 10:00pm on Monday, January 13, 2020 for this event. 

All vehicles parked in the above mentioned reserved areas will be cited.
