The College of Professional Studies Welcomes Gregg Gold as the New Associate Dean
I am delighted to share with you all that Dr. Gregg Gold, Professor of Psychology, has agreed to serve as the next Associate Dean of the College of Professional Studies. Dr. Gold’s appointment begins May 31, 2018. Dr. Gold brings a wealth of experience and knowledge to the position.
Dr. Gold received his Ph.D. from the University of California, Los Angeles in 2000. Previously he received a B.A. from UCLA, an M.A. from Cal State Northridge, and an M.A. from UCLA. His specialty is in Social Psychology. Dr. Gold joined the Psychology Department at Humboldt State University in August of 2000 and holds the rank of Professor. Dr. Gold was the Chair of the Psychology Department from 2011-2014.
Dr. Gold has served the University, College, and Department in many capacities including the Course Development Committee (CDC), HSU Academic Senate in a variety of roles, the Integrated Course Committee (ICC), the University Faculty Personal Committee, and the College of Professional Studies Personal Committee. He has also served as chair of the North Group Sierra Club for many years. Before returning to academia in 1992 to study for his first M.A., he lived between the canals and the boardwalk in Venice Beach, California, leaving occasionally to travel the world as a professional musician and sailor.
