Attend HSU Climate Change Open Forum & Share Feedback on Draft Campus Climate Plan

April 15, 2016
Dear Colleagues,

As an institution, we must rely on the intelligence and skills of everyone to solve big issues facing the campus, the CSU, and beyond.

Several dedicated staff and faculty members and students have been working to develop draft proposals for a Climate Action Plan, which will chart a clear path for Humboldt State to actively respond to the threat of global climate change. The strategies are aimed at reducing HSU’s greenhouse gas emissions and creating a culture of responsible stewardship among the campus community.

In order to encourage broad participation, we are asking for your help in two ways:

1) Read and provide feedback on several proposals that cover Humboldt’s energy and utility use; research and curriculum; solid waste; purchasing and food; and transportation. We need your expertise to weigh in on these proposals and help us identify areas we may have overlooked. Feedback is best shared by submitting your ideas and comments on the HSU Sustainability page.

2) Attend the Climate Action Plan Open Forum on Wednesday, April 20 in Goodwin Forum. We’re events to gather feedback from the campus community. They’re at noon and 3 p.m.

Your input will be compiled into the draft working group proposals, which will be completed later this year.

Your voice is an invaluable part of this process, so please make sure to share your ideas!
