World Cafe on the Future of Community Media
World Cafe on the Future of Community Media
Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at 4-5:30pm in HSU Library, Authors Hall, 2nd Floor
We invite students, faculty, staff, and community to a conversation about community media, local news and information. What is the future of Community Media?
This World Cafe conversation seeks a better understanding of your interest in community information and use of media outlets. Where do you find local information or news? What is the impact of social media and news syndication on local news? What role do you have in local information; reader, listener, viewer or writer, videographer, community journalist?
Access Humboldt, a non-profit community media organization serving Humboldt County has initiated a strategic planning process that includes a community needs assessment, and the HSU Library planning process is similarly interested in this discussion because it informs our information literacy, digital literacy, and L4HSU educational programming. Please join us to help shape the services that meet your needs today and tomorrow.
You are invited to participate in a conversation focused around a few questions about community information. Please share this invitation and we hope to see you there. Light refreshments will be available.
