This Week in Lumberjack Sports
The 2021-22 Humboldt State Lumberjacks are ready to commence their respective seasons. Two of the five Lumberjack fall sports will begin their regular seasons next week. HSU’s women’s soccer team will be the first to start at home with matches over Labor Day Weekend versus Dominican (September 3 at 2pm) and Hawai’i Hilo (September 5 at 1pm). The men’s soccer team will be on the road that weekend in Salt Lake City, Utah, on September 2 (vs. Westminster at 7:30pm MT) and September 4 (vs. Northwest Nazarene 4:30pm-MT).
HSU’s volleyball team will begin their 2021 season in Rohnert Park with four matches on September 10 and 11. The ‘Jacks will face Chico State and Dominican on Friday and Holy Names and Academy of Art on Saturday. Matches will take place at 10am and 5pm. Humboldt State’s cross country teams will commence their fall season at Baywood Golf & Country Club on September 18 with its home invitational beginning at 8:30am.
FINAL PREPARATION THIS WEEKEND
The Humboldt State men’s and women’s soccer teams and volleyball team will all be in action in scrimmages and or exhibitions this weekend. The HSU men’s soccer team will host Columbia Basin at 11am in a scrimmage this Saturday, August 28. At 2pm on Saturday, the Lumberjack women’s soccer team will host Santa Rosa Community College in an exhibition match.
HSU’s volleyball team will be on the road for their three scrimmages this weekend. The Lumberjacks will face Sonoma State on Friday the 27th at 4pm. They will keep on travelling south to Fresno for a pair of scrimmages at Fresno Pacific. HSU will take on Fresno Pacific on Saturday the 28th at 11am and Antelope Valley at 1pm.

Memberships for the Lumberjack Legion are now open by clicking here. The Lumberjack Legion was founded in 2015 when it became clear that there was a desire to have a unified supporters’ group for our soccer programs. Legion members can be seen out in full force at both home and away matches, easily recognized by their official apparel and scarfs.
Membership includes the following: general admission season pass (sport specific), limited edition scarf, car window decal, legion shirt and team schedule (sport specific). More information on how basketball season ticket holders can join is coming soon.

The Junior Jacks Kids Club is the best way for our youngest (13 years and younger) Lumberjack fans to experience the fun and excitement of Humboldt State Athletics.
Membership costs are only $20 per member. The membership includes Junior Jacks T-shirt, free general admission to all regular season home games for all sports (with the purchase of an adult ticket and when they wear their lanyard with their membership card), lanyard with membership card and birthday card from Lucky.
CLASS OF 2020/2021 HUMBOLDT STATE ATHLETICS’ HALL OF FAME CEREMONY SET FOR OCTOBER 8
The Humboldt State University Department of Athletics’ Hall of Fame Ceremony is set for Friday, October 8 at the Sapphire Palace Event Center at the Blue Casino & Hotel in Blue Lake, Calif. The evening will begin at 6pm with social hour and to continue at 7pm with dinner and the ceremony.
HSU will be inducting 13 Lumberjacks and one team into the Hall of Fame. The Class of 2020 will be represented by Laura Champ, Heather Johnston, Scott Peters, Lisa Petty, Lyndon Rowells and Chrissy Stalf. The Class of 2021 inductees are Nicholas Bawden, Bridget Berg, Dan Collen, Katie Harris, Staci Self, Anetra Torres, Zack Weinberger and the 1976 Men’s Cross Country Team.
