University Copier & Printer Contract Assessment

October 3, 2022

To reduce costs and align with Cal Poly Humboldt’s commitment to sustainability, the University is looking into a consolidated contract for all copiers and printers across campus. To aid in our efforts, the University has hired the expertise of an outside consultant, Optimizon, to assess and recommend a path forward to obtaining an efficient consolidated copier fleet. During the next 90 days, Optimizon will meet with key personnel on campus to collect data on our current use, space, and capacity of copiers and printers. Optimizon’s goal is to deliver the following to the University:

  • Copier/printer reduction opportunities

  • Feedback from stakeholders and current observations

  • Recommendations on space use, fleet management, and policies

  • Benchmarks and targets for optimum print use

  • Cost analysis report on current usage

  • Implementation and replacement timeline

After the assessment is complete, a strategy will be developed and evaluated in consideration of the consolidation of all machines into one contract. Management of this contract will be based upon Optimizon’s recommendations for the University. Any questions about the process should be sent to mdb4@humboldt.edu

Thank you all for your support and help throughout this process.
