Unit 11 (Academic Student Employee) Salary Increase

The CSU and the United Auto Workers Local 4123 (UAW), who represent our Academic Student Employees (Teaching Associates, Graduate Assistants, and Instructional Student Assistants), recently agreed to the following salary program: 

Retroactive to July 1, 2018 (FY 2018/19):

  • 3% General Salary Increase, applicable to appointees in TA and GA classifications;
  • an increase of 3% to the salary range minimums and maximums of all TA classifications and GA classification 2355;
  • an increase of 7.39% to the salary range minimums and an increase of 3% to the salary range maximums of GA classifications 2325 and 2326; 
  • an increase of $0.25 (twenty-five cents) per hour to the individual salary rate of ISA appointees, and an increase of $0.50 (fifty cents) per hour to the minimum and maximum hourly salary rates of all ISA classifications. 

At this time, any retroactive pay owed to eligible Unit 11 employees should have issued in the normal way the student employee receives their pay (paper check or direct deposit).  Due to processing timelines, this increase will not be available for viewing in PeopleSoft (see Student Employees Compensation History guide) until early February.
