January 14, 2019

ARCATA, Calif. – A total of 29 Humboldt State student-athletes were recognized for their outstanding accomplishments in the classroom during the fall season. The 29 award winners tie HSU for the most of any California State University NCAA Division II institution.

"We are very excited to see so many of our student-athletes succeeding in the classroom as well as in their sport," said HSU Athletic Director Duncan Robins.

Twenty-four Lumberjacks competed in the California Collegiate Athletic Association, which announced its Fall All-Academic Team Friday, and five earned Great Northwest Athletic Conference All-Academic honors competing in football.

To be eligible for the CCAA's fall academic awards a student-athlete must be a sophomore in athletic eligibility and maintain a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average while competing in a conference-sponsored sport.

Jacquelyn Dompier and Alex Jenkins from women's soccer are three-time CCAA Fall All-Academic honorees. Nora Goodrie, Pikake Hix, Sierra Jarriel, Taylor Lawson, Sabine Postma, Lindsay Stoner, Natalie Picone, Odelia Ryan, Taylor Yancey and Grace Hall are two-time selections.

The twenty-five Lumberjacks join a total of 311 men and women from across the CCAA's 13 member institutions.

Running back Isaiah Malachi Hall, tight end Ryan McCombs, kicker Jose Morales, offensive lineman Clint Schallberger and quarterback Andrew Tingstad represented the Green and Gold on the GNAC's All-Academic Team which was released in late October.
