Technology Available for Students, Faculty, Staff

August 4, 2020

Dear Faculty & Staff,

We want you to be aware of the technology items that are available to both you and your students.

For Faculty & Staff:

Many items such as computers, monitors, and webcams are available for loan from ITS. There are a few “limited quantity” teaching tools such as tablets and document cameras available as well. See the full list of what’s available and request them here. If you need technology specific to your program, please work with your department or college to address that need.

If you need software, check Software Center (Windows) or Self Service (Mac) on your HSU-owned computer. Using your own computer? Many titles are available remotely or for home installation.

For your students:

We want to ensure students have a computer and reliable internet access to succeed in your classes and will help them if they don’t. We’ll reach out to them to check, but please send them our way if you see a technology need. We’ve partnered with the CTL to create “What technology do I need this fall?” which covers:

  • what’s required of students (computer, internet, Zoom),

  • what’s recommended (headset, webcam, AdobeScan for scanning on a phone),

  • how to access software,

  • what’s not required (a printer),

  • how they can get help.

Please read and share with your students

We’re wishing you the very best start of the semester.

If you have questions, please contact the Technology Help Desk or call 707-826-4357.

Thank you for your help!
