Supporting HSU Employees’ Mental Health

June 9, 2020

As the COVID-19 pandemic and campus transition continue, the wellbeing of our employees and their families is of utmost concern. HSU offers the following mental health resources for all employees (note that these can also be found in HR’s COVID-19 FAQs):

  • HSU employees have access to the Employee Assistance Program (EAP), provided by Humboldt Family Service Center.  They are currently using telehealth for their appointments.
  • Employees also have access to mental health services through their health plans.  The best way to find a provider is to use the "find a doctor" tool on the Anthem website or the Blue Shield website
  • Additional special resources for Anthem members can be found at the Anthem COVID-19 website
  • Mental health issues related to COVID-19 may be qualifying events for special COVID-19 leave options. For more information visit HR’s Leave & Disability webpage.

Should you have any questions regarding these resources, please contact Ariel Aaron at ariel.aaron@humboldt.edu, Benefits Manager.
