Summer Thermostat Adjustments for Energy Conservation

June 8, 2026

As part of Cal Poly Humboldt's ongoing efforts to save energy and support the University's sustainability goals, Facilities Management will adjust the thermostat during the summer.

Heating levels in campus buildings will be reduced from mid-June through mid-August—a time when fewer people are on campus. Ventilation systems and fans will continue to circulate air to help maintain comfort. In additiion, please remember to close any open windows prior to leaving for the evening.

These temporary adjustments are part of the University’s broader commitment to responsible energy stewardship and operational efficiency.

We appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to reduce campus energy consumption over the summer. If you experience any significant issues related to indoor environmental conditions, please submit a work request through the Facilities Management work order system.
