Spring 2023 Commencement is just around the corner! Employees play an important role in the success of our graduating students. If you want to be involved on this special day, work may be available for you performing a variety of Commencement-related activities. Food will be provided for those working the event.

There will be three on-campus ceremonies on Saturday, May 13:

•  9:00 AM | College of Arts, Humanities & Social Sciences

• 12:00 PM | College of Natural Resources & Sciences

• 3:00 PM | College of Professional Studies 

Employees are needed to work partial or full day shifts if possible. Those who are able to work are asked to make arrangements with their supervisor and complete the work shift and availability form no later than Friday, April 14. 

The President has approved CTO, schedule adjustments, or overtime for current staff willing to help during the Commencement ceremonies on Saturday. Staff are asked to please check with their supervisors to ensure their willingness to work Commencement will not disrupt the operations of their unit and make adjustments as needed. 

Past employees or community volunteers who would like to assist in Commencement should email grad@humboldt.edu with their interest. 

Student employees who would like to work Commencement will be paid intermittently hourly for their time. Student employees are also asked to check with their supervisors to ensure their willingness to work Commencement will not disrupt the operations of their unit or go over their allowed work hours and make adjustments as needed. Interested students should email grad@humboldt.edu. 

Interested employees and volunteers will be accepted to work during Commencement on a first-come basis and the final assignment will be shared during the week of the event.

Supervisors and/or managers with any questions on how to administer CTO, schedule adjustments, or overtime for Commencement should contact the Human Resources Department.
