Softball’s Kalyn Paque Earns All-American Honors

SALEM, Va. – Humboldt State utility pitcher Kalyn Paque collected National Fastpitch Coaches Association Third Team All-American and Division II Collegiate Commissioners Association's All-America Honorable Mention honors Wednesday.
 
"I am so proud of Kalyn and her accomplishments this year," said HSU Head Coach Shelli Sarchett. "She is a consistent contributor to this team at the plate, on the bases and on the mound. She really has become the ultimate utility player and continues to step up in big situations wherever the team needs her."
 
The senior from Reno, Nev., has a 16-4 record and a 2.19 ERA, and she is batting .336 with nine home runs and 36 RBI this season. In Paque's last pitching appearance, she tossed 5.2 innings of two-hit relief against Dixie State in the Super Regional round and helped the Lumberjacks earn a spot in the NCAA Division II National Championship.
 
She has helped anchor the Green and Gold infield this season with her consistent glove. Paque has started in all 56 games this season, but a move to third base has paid off in the postseason. The senior has committed boasts a .995 fielding percentage.
