Share Your Feedback on the Search for New Provost (Vice President for Academic Affairs)

January 29, 2020

Thank you to everyone who participated in this week’s open forums for the search process for Provost (Vice President of Academic Affairs)!

Students, faculty, and staff who are interested in providing additional feedback are encouraged to complete the Campus Feedback Survey. This survey will help the firm running the national Provost search process develop an in-depth profile for the position. The campus community may also directly nominate a candidate by emailing the search firm, Wittkieffer, at HumboldtProvost@wittkieffer.com.

Reporting to the President, the Provost is responsible for the creation and implementation of the University’s academic priorities and for the allocation of resources that will support those priorities.

Shawna Young, Dean for the College of Professional Studies, will chair the Provost search committee, which was selected according to the guidelines of the faculty handbook and is a diverse representation of administrators, faculty, staff, and students.

The committee will begin reviewing applicants in April and finalists will be invited to an open forum on campus in May. We anticipate selecting a new Provost by the end of the spring semester and their appointment beginning by this summer.
