Seismic Retrofit Project Construction

August 15, 2018

Dear HSU Campus Community,

With the start of the Fall Semester we are also nearing the start of the Library and Theater Arts Seismic Retrofit Project. This construction project will begin in September and be completed in Summer 2019. In preparation for the project, Facilities Management will be installing a construction fence line for the impacted site on Thursday, August 16.

The fence line map can be found under the “Important News & Information” section of the Project Website linked here. The fence line is intended to redirect pedestrian traffic, and restrict access to vacated building areas. Signage will be posted with project information and maps showing where to find relocated programs.

The John Van Duzer Theatre will remain in use until September 16th for planned reservations, The KHSU studios will continue to operate from the Theater Arts Building until their temporary relocation to the Feuerwerker House by September 14th. All other Theater Arts building occupants and all staff and programs in the Library Basement level have been temporarily relocated to other locations on campus including other existing buildings and the temporary facilities at the Campus Events Field. The remainder of the library will continue to be open and accessed through the main east entrance. All locations for relocated programs can be found on the HSU Directory and the Campus Map.

We appreciate your support of this project and the collaborative effort from countless departments across campus to bring this project together.
