Reminder: 3:30 p.m. Virtual Forum For UPD Chief Candidate

As a reminder, Humboldt State University will host a virtual open forum for Helen Ricci, Acting Chief of Police, Rhode Island Airport Corporation Police Department, one of two candidates for Chief of the University Police Department.

Helen Ricci has 14 years of law enforcement experience. She began her career with the Boston Police Department, spending 7 years as an officer working in patrol and special operations. She continued her career with the Georgetown University Law School as an officer and sergeant, spending 4 years in university policing. In 2019, Helen accepted an offer to become the Deputy Chief of Police for the Rhode Island Airport Corporation Police Department. Helen has been with the Airport Police in Rhode Island for over 9 months; spending the last six as their Acting Chief of Police. Helen has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, a Master’s of Science degree in Administrative Studies, and a Master’s of Arts degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently in her last year of schooling to obtain her Ph.D. in Criminology and Criminal Justice.
