We are excited to announce that Redwood Bowl will reopen to campus users beginning Monday, August 10, 2026. Over the last few months, Facilities Management completed several significant improvements to the facility, including much-needed track maintenance and restriping, as well as the replacement of the synthetic turf playing surface.

As part of the turf replacement, the traditional black crumb rubber infill has been replaced with a more sustainable natural infill consisting of sand and walnut husks. This improvement enhances the environmental sustainability of the field while providing a high-quality playing surface for campus users.

The new turf was designed with markings to support multiple sports, including:

Football – White
Rugby – Black
Lacrosse – Gold
Soccer – Gray (both full-size and short-field configurations)

We encourage everyone to take a look at the improvements.
