Dear Staff and Faculty,

This event, Power Down HSU, is being implemented campus-wide and in order it for it to be successful we need YOUR help. We are asking students, professors, staff, faculty, and administrators to take our “Do It In the Dark” pledge and take action on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. The steps that professors and lecturers can take differ slightly from steps asked of students and faculty/staff/administrators, but there is quite a bit of overlap.

By taking this pledge to reduce energy consumption on Nov. 17th through the actions listed, you will help show students that we can easily lessen our energy footprint. This event is a way for Humboldt State University to take steps towards reducing greenhouse gases and combating climate change.

Based on the results of this event, HSU will discuss hosting this event on a monthly basis. Thus, it is important to us that you help make this event successful since it could become of the campus’ larger plan for climate action.
