Office 2016 Now Available on Campus

The latest version of Microsoft Office is now available for installation on HSU-managed systems. 
  • Windows users, go to MyApps and download the software. Note that the Chrome browser is not compatible with MyApps.
  • Mac users, go to Applications -> Self-service and download the software.

Office 2016 and Excel Extensions

If you are a regular user of extensions in Excel, be aware that some third-party Excel extensions may not be compatible with the latest version of Office. ITS is testing the following extensions for compatibility:

  • Monte Carlo Simulation                                                                                  
  • OLS Regression                                                                                
  • Comparative Statics                                                                       
  • Economics Chart Enhancer                                                                     
  • Histogram
  • Megastats

We're also testing the following extensions included with Office:

  • Euro Currency Tools                                                   
  • Analysis Toolpack                                                        
  • Solver                                                                           

Office 2016 and Teaching Schedules

Over the summer of 2016, ITS will be updating the Computer Labs and Smart Classrooms to Office 2016. If you plan to teach with Excel in the Fall of 2016 and anticipate using extensions other than those listed above, please submit a helpdesk ticket as soon as possible. ITS recommends also conducting your own tests before the Fall 2016 semester with the extensions you plan to use, to ensure that they function smoothly in the context you plan to use them.
