Starting Monday, Jan. 24, HSU will use a digital parking payment system for the first time. The app, Passport Parking, allows for a contactless experience where you can pay for and manage parking sessions with your smartphone. Those who prefer to pay via traditional meters or purchase passes from the parking kiosk can still do so. 

At this time, we are only introducing the daily general parking permits on the app. Rates will remain the same for students, employees, and visitors. 

This is the first phase of the rollout for the new parking app implementation. The next phase will be creating digital passes for long-term parking for students and employees, expected to begin by Fall 2022. We strongly encourage all students and employees to take a moment to create an account with Passport, enter your vehicle information, and be prepared for the digital transition away from parking decals in your vehicle windows this Fall.

To begin a daily or metered parking session, create an account in the Passport Parking app with your email address or phone number and enter your parking space number which is posted on each parking meter (in metered areas) or license plate number (in general parking areas) and amount of time. Users receive notifications when their parking time is about to expire and can extend their time remotely. Receipts and parking history are easily accessible through the app. 

Please note, day-long parking is only allowed in designated parking lots. Parking lot designations will not change. 

You will begin to see signs installed on campus identifying zones for parking. You will need to know what zone you are in to pay for parking in the app. Here is a map of campus parking. For more information on our parking daily and permit rates, visit the HSU's Parking website.

The Passport Parking app, developed by transportation software and payments company Passport is free to download from the App Store and Google Play. Users can also manage their parking online at passportparking.com.
