Dear HSU Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Laura Hahn has agreed to serve as the interim AVP for Faculty Affairs. Dr. Hahn’s appointment will begin August 17, 2018. In this position, Dr. Hahn will bring her experience, energy, and skill to lead the Academic Personnel Services (HR-APS) team.

Dr. Hahn has spent 20 years at HSU as a faculty member in the Department of Communication. During this time, she has served in a variety of leadership roles across campus including Chair of the University Faculty Personnel Committee, University Ombudsperson, Faculty Development Coordinator, New Faculty Orientation Coordinator, and Department Chair for the departments of English and Communication. She has also served as a member of the CAHSS College Personnel Committee, Professional Leave Committee, and Grade Grievance Committee.

As a scholar, Dr. Hahn specializes in gender and communication and the rhetoric of food studies. She holds a B.A. and M.A. from San Francisco State University and Ph.D. from The Ohio State University.
