New Interim Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs

July 27, 2022

Dear Colleagues,

I am pleased to announce that after a brief internal searchDr. Kimberly White has been selected as the Interim Associate Vice President of Faculty Affairs and begins her new position August 2, 2022. Dr. White most recently served as the Department Chair of Chemistry and as an Equity Fellow for the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. Dr. White has been at Cal Poly Humboldt since 2017 and was previously at Colorado Mesa University. She earned her Ph.D. in Chemistry from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

“I look forward to serving faculty in this capacity during our polytechnic growth period. I am excited to provide vital resources to existing faculty and support incoming faculty so that we may continue to offer Cal Poly Humboldt students an exceptional higher education experience,” Dr. White says.

I am excited that Dr. White is stepping into the role of Interim AVP of Faculty Affairs during this critical time at Cal Poly Humboldt as we welcome a large number of new faculty to the institution during our polytechnic transformation. Her equity lens, coupled with a commitment to supporting the success of all of our faculty, will be a terrific addition to the Office of Academic Affairs leadership team.

As a reminder, Dr. Simone Aloisio has been given the opportunity to step into a newly created Interim AVP of Faculty Affairs and Success position at Sonoma State University beginning August 8, 2022. Simone will continue to retain duties at Cal Poly Humboldt equivalent to one day a week for the foreseeable future to provide continuity of service delivery as well as provide training and onboarding for Dr. White.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jenn Capps
Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs
