Lumberjacks’ Izzy Starr Named to NFCA All-West Region Team

May 13, 2021

Humboldt State University’s utility player Izzy Starr was named to the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Division II All-West Region Team as announced by the NFCA on Wednesday morning.

Earlier this month, Starr was named to the 2021 Schutt Sports/NFCA DII Player and Pitcher of the Year Top 30 list.  She was one of thirty student-athletes that have been selected as finalists for this prestigious honor. The winners will be announced following the conclusion of the 2021 season as will the NFCA All-American Team.

This past season, Starr batted .468 in fourteen games.  She posted a .957 slugging percentage and recorded a .468 on-base percentage.  Starr hit safely in 11 of HSU’s 14 games while only striking out once in 47 at-bats.  The Lumberjack sophomore hit a team high six home runs while driving in a team 15 runs and scoring 13 runs.  Of her 22 hits, six were home runs, three doubles and one a triple.
