Lumberjack Duo of Crespo and McLaughlin Named to 2021 All-CCAA Volleyball Team

The Humboldt State duo of Carla Crespo and Lindsey McLaughlin were named to the 2021 All-California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) Volleyball Team as announced this afternoon by the conference office.  This is the first time that both Crespo and McLaughlin have earned All-CCAA honors as both were named to the Honorable Mention Team.

 Crespo played in 65 of the 71 sets that the ‘Jacks played in this season.  She recorded 292 digs for an average of 4.49 digs per set. The senior libero had 15 service aces and 44 assists.  She recorded a season high 31 digs on November 11 versus Cal State Dominguez Hills and five service aces versus Dominican on September 10.  Crespo had a season high eight assists against Dominican on September 10.  Heading into this weekend, she is second in the CCAA with her 4.49 digs per set average and seventh in total digs.

 McLaughlin played in all but three of the sets that the ‘Jacks played this season.  She recorded a .176 hitting percentage to go with her team high 166 total kills.  The junior transfer had a 2.44 kills per set average to go with her team high 18 service aces.  McLaughlin also had 57 digs and 44 total blocks.  She recorded her first double-double in the Green and Gold at Stanislaus State (November 6) with 13 kills and 12 digs.  Her season highs were 13 kills (at Stanislaus State-November 6), 13 digs (vs. Cal State Los Angeles-November 13) and seven total blocks (at Cal State Dominguez Hills-September 18).  Heading into the CCAA Tournament this weekend,

HSU finished the 2021 season with a 3-18 overall record and a 2-16 CCAA record.
