Laurel and B Street Closure Effective 9/30/19
September 26, 2019
Beginning Monday, September 30, continuing through Wednesday, October 9, 2019, the seismic retrofit contractor will be working on crosswalk improvements for the western lanes of Laurel Drive at the top of B Street. Due to the nature of this work activity, the west portion of the intersection will need to be closed to vehicular traffic so that the existing pavement and structural sections can be demolished and rebuilt safely. Pedestrian flow traveling north up B Street will be routed over toward Jenkins Hall to use the eastern crosswalk, and can then can continue north through campus, or west toward Sequoia Mall.
Also, at this time the parking in front of Gist Hall and the eastern half of the sidewalk in front of Gist Hall will all be removed and replaced to provide new ADA parking areas and sidewalks.
While construction of this parking area is being worked on, there are still two parking spaces reserved for ADA access on the south-side of Gist Hall that can be used.
Please see the attached map for the areas referenced above that will be impacted. If you should have any questions please call Jason Baugh at Facilities Management, 826-5072.
