SAN RAMON, Calif. –
Humboldt State senior Justin Everett was named the California Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Player of the Week Tuesday.

"Justin continues to get better day by day this season," said HSU Head Coach Steve Kinder. "All of his hard work last spring, summer, and fall is paying off for him individually and is helping this team win games. I've seen four-year players grow in this program and have a huge senior season, Justin is on pace to becoming the next in line."

Everett averaged 24.5 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 steals in wins over Cal State Monterey Bay and Stanislaus State. He scored a team-high 21 points to go with seven rebounds in Thursday's 76-64 victory. The Clovis, Calif., native finished the weekend with 28 points as he helped the Lumberjacks hang on for an 87-78 win over a talented Warriors squad.

The redshirt senior ranks 24th in NCAA Division II with 72 made field goals this season, and he ranks third in the CCAA in field goal percentage (56.3) and fourth in points per game (16.0).

HSU hosts rival Chico State Saturday in Lumberjack Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are available online at HSUJacks.com/tickets, and HSU students, faculty and staff receive free admission with campus ID.
