On Monday, June 5 between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff's Department and Cal Poly Humboldt University Police Department (UPD) officers will be doing a joint training exercise on campus. The training is focused on Active Shooter Prevention and Response for Law Enforcement.

The campus community can expect to see an increase in law enforcement personnel and first responder vehicles.  Jenkins Hall will be the primary location of the training and will not be accessible to students, staff, or faculty during the training.

All training will have marked signs advising of the training and building closure. Should an emergency arise on campus, UPD will still maintain staffing in order to respond as needed.
