Join the Campus Sustainability Employee Educators Developing Solutions (SEEDS) Team for AY 24-25
You are invited to join our third annual campus SEEDS program! This program is open to current staff and faculty of Cal Poly Humboldt.
SEEDS is an acronym that stands for Sustainability Employee Educators Developing Solutions. This program seeks to support employees in learning about and collaborating to advance and integrate sustainability into their lives and work, and to build a sustainability culture on campus.
With AY 2024-2025 representing the THIRD year of this structured program at Cal Poly Humboldt, SEEDS seeks to train a cohort of employees to serve as leaders and point people for campus sustainability issues. Participants will foster improvement and change on sustainability topics ranging from waste, energy, transportation, purchasing, water, and environmental justice, among others.
This program merges an existing campus workplace sustainability auditing program (previously called the Green Workplace Assessment) with the concept of employee peer education in service of meeting STARS criteria for EN 3 Staff Engagement & Training. Participants will earn a one time $500 payment at completion of the program, a t-shirt, and may receive some catered food in program sessions. Participants are required to attend weekly, 90-minute in-person sessions and spend some additional time as needed outside of meetings to advance projects and education. Synchronous meetings are scheduled for Thursdays 1:30- 3pm throughout the year starting September 12th.
If interested in joining, please join us at our first session on Thursday September 12th at 1:30pm in SBS 405. Interested parties are also encouraged to fill out this form at their earliest convenience.
