IT Security Enhancing Email Protection to Reduce Phishing
The Information Security Office is getting ready to roll out a new tool that will help keep campus email safer. Over the past year, we’ve seen a big jump in phishing attempts and other unwanted messages, and this upgrade will help us stay ahead of them.
Starting next month, messages that look questionable will appear in a small daily Email Security Digest instead of landing in your inbox. You’ll also see a new button in Gmail to report suspicious messages, making it easier to send anything questionable directly to the IT Security team.
As we get closer to launching these features, ITS will share tips to help you make the most of the new reporting button and the daily digest.
If you have questions, feel free to reach out to the Information Security Office at security@humboldt.edu.
