Humboldt State Women’s Soccer Signs Josie Wolitzky

April 19, 2021

Humboldt State University women’s soccer head coach Grant Landy has announced the signing of Josie Wolitzky to a National Letter of Intent.  Wolitzky is a 5-6 defender from Parker, Colorado where she attends Chaparral High School.

During her interscholastic career at Chaparral, Wolitzky was the Team Captain from 2019-2021.  The four-time varsity soccer letterwinner was named to all-conference first-team in 2018.  Wolitzky has been a member of the Real Colorado 03 ECNL Team since 2017.

“Josie is a high-level athlete who can play multiple defensive positions for us,”  Landy said.  “We are still putting the pieces together with our young team, so having someone with her versatility is very important for our program right now.   She’s pacy, strong with both feet and reads the game extremely well.   More importantly, she's a great fit with our culture of competitiveness and character.  I can’t wait to coach her in the fall.”

The daughter of Jason and Mikaela Wolitzky was on the Honor Roll from 2017 to 2021 as well as a member of the National Honor Society from 2019 to 2021.  Wolitzky was the Student Body Secretary from 2020 to 2021 and was on Student Government since her freshman year.  Most recently, she was honored with the National Women and Girls in Sports Award for the 2020-21 academic year at Chaparral.

Wolitzky joins the 2021 class of Niki Clark, Sarah Hines, Annie Hoffman, Emma McChristie and Carson Thomson-Terrel who committed to Humboldt earlier in the year.
