Humboldt State Women’s Rowing Team Records a 3.50 Team GPA, Its Highest in Ten Years

Humboldt State’s women’s rowing team, under the direction of head coach Matt Weise, posted a team term gpa of 3.50 this past semester. This gpa was the highest that the Lumberjacks have posted in ten years.  The women’s rowing team had three of its student-athletes earn Presidential Scholars by posting a 3.85 or higher gpa this past semester.

 Overall for the Athletic Department, each team also showed up in the classroom, with ten teams achieving a term team grade point average of 3.00 or higher, and nine posting a term GPA of 3.00+.   Of those programs, women’s basketball (3.58), rowing (3.50) and softball (3.47) each set a ten-year record, recording their highest recorded term GPA.

 " I am proud of my athlete's ability to focus on academics and find success in shifting to online classes,” said Coach Weise.  “ Their ability to roll with the many changes that occurred this fall has served them well on the water and in the classroom. "

 Overall eight Lumberjack rowing student-athletes had at least a 3.50 grade point average this past semester.
