Humboldt State University Track & Field Announces This Year’s Recruiting Class

August 26, 2021

Humboldt State University head men’s/women’s track and field coach Sarah Ingram has announced the signing of eleven Lumberjacks to the 2021-22 Lumberjack Track & Field Team.  These eleven are:  Collin Allen, Slade Cavallaro, Kaela Dennert-Frederick, Maria Dunlap, Gavin Miller, Delena Montes, Joe Rosenquist, Harold Singh, Jonathan Sweeney, Jason Trent and Grant Van Emmerik.

"We have some very talented student-athletes joining our Lumberjack family this year! said Ingram. Our program has constricted throughout the past couple pandemic seasons, and we are looking forward to the added depth from new male sprinters and female throwers. It's also been an unusual recruiting year with so many lost competitive opportunities for high school athletes in their junior and season seasons, and not being able to visit campus and meet in-person throughout the Covid pandemic, but we're learning new ways to be flexible, adapt, and to keep moving forward.”

“It will be fun to see how the additional seasons of NCAA eligibility given back to our returners and transfer students due to lost seasons during Covid will benefit our program as a whole a few years down the road,” added Ingram.  “Right now, 80-90% of our rosters are freshmen and sophomores athletically, so if those older students decide to continue their education they could potentially compete for us while in graduate school. It's definitely an exciting time to be a Lumberjack!"

The Lumberjacks will compete this Spring beginning in early February.
