Humboldt State Trio of Johnson, Seeley and Skinner Named to GNAC 2021 All-Academic Team

As announced by the Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) today, three members of the 2021 Humboldt State Women's Rowing Team were named to the GNAC 2021 Women's Rowing All-Academic Team in Marjorie Johnson, Malia Seeley and Haley Skinner. 

 “Teams go the way of their upperclassmen,” said head coach Matt Weise.  “Marjorie (Johnson), Malia (Seeley) and Hayley (Skinner) have been instrumental in setting high standards academically and athletically throughout this season.  High academic standards have been the norm since this program was started and the three leaders are continuing this legacy and are pushing the younger athletes to follow their lead.”

 Honorees for the GNAC All-Academic teams must be in their sophomore year of eligibility or greater and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher.  The Lumberjacks had three of the forty-one honorees on the GNAC 2021 Women's Rowing All-Academic Team.

 This is the second year in a row that Seeley and Skinner have earned this honor while its Johnson’s first.  The 2021 season marks the second season that the Lumberjacks' women's rowing team are an affiliated member of the GNAC.  The other members of the GNAC for women's rowing are Central Oklahoma, Seattle Pacific and Western Washington. 

 
The Lumberjacks are preparing for the 2021 GNAC Women’s Rowing Championships which will take place on May 15 at Vancouver Lake in Vancouver, Washington.
