Humboldt State Softball Names Katelyn Fox Assistant Coach

January 29, 2021

As announced today by Humboldt State University head softball coach Shelli Sarchett, Katelyn Fox has been named the Lumberjacks’ assistant coach.  Fox comes to Humboldt State from Eureka High School where she has been the head coach for the Loggers since 2015.

“We are excited to welcome Katelyn back to our Lumberjack softball family,” said Sarchett. “Her commitment to the development of student-athletes was made very clear during the interview process. She has been in similar shoes as our student-athletes by balancing high academics and high achieving athletics here at Humboldt State.  Katelyn will be able to serve as a great mentor in our program, as well as in our Humboldt community.”

Fox has been the head softball coach from 2015-20 at Eureka High School in Eureka, Calif.  Prior to Eureka, Fox was the assistant coach and youth camp host for South Bay Sports Training from 2011 to 2014.

“I am excited to get to represent the green and gold as a coach,” said Fox.  “It is an honor to be a part of such a decorated program. Humboldt State University provided me with a wealth of opportunities, and I can’t wait to give back to the program and the community in a new role.”

Katelyn Fox (formerly Graeser) was an Academic All-American for the Lumberjacks and during the 2014 season was the Lumberjacks’ Team Captain.  Prior to Humboldt State, the two-time Academic All-American earned Second Team All-MCAC honors at York College of Nebraska in 2013.

Fox graduated from Humboldt State in 2014 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in History.  She received her Master’s of Science degree in Kinesiology from California Baptist University in 2020.
