Humboldt State Rower Malia Seeley Named to All-GNAC Team
Humboldt State’s junior rower Malia Seeley was named to the All-Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women’s Rowing Team as announced by the conference office this morning. Seeley was one of eleven rowers selected to the All-GNAC Team as voted on by the league’s head coaches.
“Malia (Seeley) kept our team focused on team-building by establishing standards and culture,” said head coach Matt Weise. “She understood that racing would be limited, but kept the team energy high and the team excited to be practicing each day.”
Seeley was part of the varsity 4+ team that raced in the GNAC Championship on May 15 in Vancouver, Wash. This past Fall, Seeley was made the Dean’s List. This academic year, the Environmental Engineering major was a member of the Humboldt State Lumberjack Student-Athlete Advisory Committee SAAC).
Last season, the three-year letter-winner was named to the 2019-20 GNAC All-Academic Team as well as being named to the Humboldt State Dean’s List in the Fall and the Spring. She also was a 2019-20 D2ADA Academic Achievement recipient.
During the 2018-19 season, Seeley was part of the Lumberjack team that captured WIRA’s.

GNAC Freshman of the Year: Faith Brooks (Central Oklahoma)
GNAC Coxswain of the Year: Madisyn Kitchell (Central Oklahoma)
GNAC Newcomer of the Year: Sage Kroeker (Central Oklahoma)
