May 5, 2021

Humboldt State University head men’s basketball coach Tae Norwood has announced the signing of Jaden Dewar Edwards to a National Letter of Intent.  Edwards is a 6’6 guard from Portland, Ore., where he attended Roosevelt High School.  He is transferring to Humboldt State from North Idaho College.

“Jaden is wired to score,” said head coach Tae Norwood.  “His combination of size, shooting touch and basketball feel make him a versatile offensive piece who we can play at a variety of positions.

Jaden’s high motor, length and athleticism fits well in our preferred up-tempo style. Our expectations are for Jaden to make an immediate contribution for the Lumberjacks come next fall.”

Dewar Edwards is the son of former NBA player, Theodore “Blue” Edwards and Renee Kelly and step-son of Dwight Kelly.  During the 2019-20 season, Dewar Edwards was a member of the North Idaho College men’s basketball team where he averaged 11.6 points and 5.7 rebounds per game.  He finished in the top five in the Northwest Athletic Conference (NWAC) in field goal percentage (61%) and top ten in three-point field goal percentage (45%).

At Roosevelt High School, Dewar Edwards averaged 21.1 points and 10.7 rebounds per game during the 2016-17 season.  He was selected to the All-League during the 2016-17 season.
