Humboldt State’s Volleyball Team Will Start 2021 on the Road in Rohnert Park

August 3, 2021

Humboldt State’s volleyball team, under the guidance of head coach Kelly Wood, will begin their 22-match season on the road in Rohnert Park, Calif., for four matches in the Seawolf/Gator Classic on the campus of Sonoma State University during the weekend of September 10-11.

“As we head into the 2021 season, I feel optimistic and extremely excited about getting to compete against our CCAA opponents,” said Wood.  “We had 13 new student-athletes last year, we were very young, and we were given the opportunity to spend the year training, developing our athletes, as well as improving our team dynamic as a whole.  I currently have a group of young ladies who are chomping at the bit to get back out on that court, and although we are only returning seven, the group feels established, connected, and prepared for a competitive 2021 season.”

Humboldt State returns seven letter-winners from the 2019 season including 2019 All-CCAA honoree, Lenox Loving, who had a 3.28 kills per set average in 2019.  Of the top returners are Carla Crespo, Riley Tishlarich, Hannah Cantrell, Macy Thomas and Malia Coyle.
