As announced this morning, Humboldt State University’s Men’s Track & Field student-athlete, Terrence Allen, was named to the 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men’s Track & Field/Cross Country Team, selected to by CoSIDA.  Allen was selected to the District 8 Team which consists of teams from the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA), Great Northwest Athletic Conference (GNAC) and The PacWest Conference. 

Last week, Allen was named to the 2020-21 CCAA Spring Academic Honor Roll Team.   The History major was on the Humboldt State Department of Athletics’ Dean’s List this past Spring.  This past season, he recorded a career mark in the javelin with a second-place throw of 48.65m (159-7) at the SOU Meet #2 in Ashland, Ore.  The previous week he recorded a career throw in the hammer throw at the SOU Meet #1 in Ashland, Ore., with a sixth-place throw of 44.42m (145-9).  He recored eleven top five finishes this Spring in either the shot put, hammer or javelin.

The 2020-21 Academic All-District® Men’s Track & Field / Cross Country Team, selected by CoSIDA, recognizes the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances in the competition realm and in the classroom. The CoSIDA Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.

 First-team Academic All-District® honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America® ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced in mid-August.

 The Division II and III CoSIDA Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CoSIDA with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2020-21 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CoSIDA Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA national office.
