Humboldt State’s Rosa Granados Named CCAA Runner of the Week For the Second Time This Season

As announced by the office of the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) this morning, Humboldt State women’s cross country runner Rosa Granados has been named the CCAA Women’s Cross Country Runner of the Week for the second this season.  Granados captured the 5K 46th Annual Charles Bowles Invitational with her time of 18:11.3. 

 This is the second consecutive race this season that Granados has won with the first being the Jim Hunt Invitational in Arcata on September 18. Granados finished almost seven seconds ahead of the University of Portland’s Elle Eriksen who finished with a time of 18:18.1 at the Bowles Invitational in Salem, Oregon.  The junior runner helped the ‘Jacks to a sixth-place team finish out of 14 teams. 

 Granados and her teammates will return to the course this Saturday, October 9 when they participate in the Lewis Conference Crossover in Romeoville, Ill.  The women’s race is scheduled to begin at 9:45am (CT) and the men’s at 10:30am (CT).
