Humboldt State’s Drew Petersen Named NSCA Strength and Conditioning Coach Emeritus

Humboldt State University’s Drew Petersen has been honored by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) by being named a Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach Emeritus.

 The NSCAs Registered Strength and Conditioning Coach Emeritus® (RSCCE) is a designation that signifies that a CSCSE® certified coach has demonstrated experience and knowledge in their field for 20 or more years. RSCCE coaches apply foundational knowledge to assess, motivate, educate, and train athletes for the primary goal of improving sport performance.

Petersen is one of 164 coaches that have the distinction of RSCCE.  He has been a valued member of the Humboldt State University Department of Athletics’ Staff since 1991. Petersen began the strength and conditioning program at HSU in 1991 and is responsible for the design and implementation of the year-round strength and conditioning program for all HSU sports.  He also coordinates all of HSU’s weight room activities and classes for the department of physical education, while supervising a staff.
