Humboldt State’s Cam Timmons Named CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week

ARCATA, Calif---  As announced by the California Collegiate Athletic Association (CCAA) office this morning, Humboldt State redshirt freshman Cam Timmons has been named the CCAA Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for the week of Dec. 26, 2021-Jan. 2, 2022. Timmons is the second Lumberjack to earn this award this season as Jaden Edwards received this honor in mid-December.

 Timmons scored 18 points and grabbed a career high 10 rebounds for his first double-double in the Green and Gold. The Howard University transfer was eight-for-nine from the field and connected on both of his attempts from the line.  Of his 10 rebounds, seven were defensive rebounds. He also dished out one assist and blocked one shot to lead HSU to its 84-60 conference home win over Sonoma State on Sunday.

 In the Lumberjacks’ last four games, Timmons is averaging 13.5 points and 6.8 rebounds per game. He shot 65.7% from the field in those four games going 23-for-35.  Timmons dished out three assists, recorded two steals and blocked four shots.

 For the season, Timmons is averaging 9.9 points and 6.0 rebounds per game while shooting 54.9% from the field.  He is shooting 67.9% from the charity tripe and has dished out nine assists, blocked nine shots and recorded five steals.

 Humboldt State will be on road this week for a pair of CCAA contests in Southern California.  The ‘Jacks will be in San Marcos, Calif., for a 7:30pm scheduled tip-off with No. 11 Cal State San Marcos this Thursday, January 6.  They will travel to Los Angeles this Saturday, January 8 for a 3pm scheduled contest with Cal State Los Angeles.  HSU will return home on Thursday, January 13 at 7:3pm, when they entertain No. 6 Cal State San Bernardino.
