HSU Football Earns National Ranking in Latest AFCA Top 25 Poll

WACO, Texas – Following Saturday’s 72-14 home victory over Simon Fraser, the Humboldt State football program continued its rise and entered the American Football Coaches Association Top 25 poll for the first time at No. 22.

HSU kicked off the regular season with a road win versus then No. 8-ranked Azusa Pacific in Glendora, Calif., and improved to 2-0 with Saturday’s result.

The Lumberjacks have 77 points and are one of two Great Northwest Athletic Conference representatives in the top 25. Central Washington sits two spots ahead of HSU at No. 20 and is 3-0 overall. The Green and Gold are scheduled to meet the Wildcats twice this season, and the first showdown will take place on Oct. 7 in Ellensburg, Wash.

A road trip to face rival Western Oregon awaits HSU this Saturday. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
