January 22, 2021

Humboldt State’s women’s basketball team, under the direction of head coach Michelle Bento-Jackson, posted a team term gpa of 3.58 this past semester. This gpa was the highest that the Lumberjacks have posted in ten years.  The women’s basketball team had six players post a 3.50 or higher gpa in the fall.

Overall for the Athletic Department, each team also showed up in the classroom, with ten teams achieving a term team grade point average of 3.00 or higher, and nine posting a term GPA of 3.00+.   Of those programs, women’s basketball (3.58), rowing (3.50) and softball (3.47) each set a ten-year record, recording their highest recorded term GPA.

"I am extremely proud of the work our team put into their academics for the fall semester,” said Coach Bento-Jackson. “Needless to say, it was a very challenging semester in many ways and for our team to keep their focus and discipline throughout the semester they should be commended for it."

69% of the Lumberjack women’s basketball team posted a 3.50 or higher gpa this past semester.
