Dear HSU Colleagues,

Good morning and greetings from Siemens Hall. Today marks my inaugural day on campus - I am very excited to be in Arcata and have the opportunity to join the HSU community.

Although I am HSU's newest member, I am very passionate to begin my work in support of our University’s mission to prepare students to be responsible and engaged members of society - individuals who will leave HSU with the understanding and devotion to tackle today's most pressing social, economic, and environmental issues. Thus, it is an honor and privilege to serve as your next Provost.

In the coming weeks, I look forward to meeting you and hearing your thoughts and ideas about what makes HSU the wonderful place it is. To accomplish this, you can expect to see me traversing campus, visiting units, attending forums, and having lunch with our students. From these and other conversations and interactions, I anticipate we will make great strides in our important work implementing the 2015-2020 HSU Strategic Plan priorities.

Finally, I want to remind you about this Friday's Spring Welcome event. Please be sure to introduce yourself to me!
