Help Welcome Students: Home Away From Home Potluck
Dear Colleagues,
Equity Arcata invites Cal Poly Humboldt employees to support the upcoming Home Away From Home Potluck for Cal Poly Humboldt and College of the Redwoods students.
Home Away From Home is an Equity Arcata initiative that brings community members, local businesses, and students together through shared meals and meaningful connections. Equity Arcata is a partnership between the City of Arcata, represented by the City Manager’s Office, and Cal Poly Humboldt, represented by the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (ODEI).
The next potluck will take place:
Sunday, September 13, at 5 p.m.
D Street Neighborhood Center
1301 D Street, Arcata
Faculty, staff, and administrators are invited to participate by:
- Bringing a ready-to-serve dish sufficient for approximately 10 people. Please note that the facility does not have adequate kitchen capacity to cook or reheat food.
- Attending the potluck to share a meal and connect with students.
- Volunteering with setup or cleanup.
- Purchasing prepared food from a local restaurant and arranging for delivery to the center by 4:45 p.m.
Please sign up here to let the Home Away From Home Working Group know how you would like to participate. Signing up in advance will help the group plan for a successful event and ensure there is enough food for everyone.
Thank you for helping us create a welcoming community in which students from all backgrounds feel supported and connected.
