HEIF is now accepting Idea Paper Submissions, due March 10, 2023!

February 24, 2023

Idea Papers are a chance for students to submit, fund, and implement their ideas for campus. The submission deadline is March 10, 2023. Workshops will be available to refine a student's idea after submission, and the HEIF committee will review all submitted papers and choose which should move forward to further development and implementation on campus. In addition, join the HEIF Committee and support staff for an information session Friday 2/24/2023 from 10-11am in Nelson Hall East 106.

The Humboldt Energy Independence Fund, also known by its acronym "H.E.I.F.", is a concept championed by students where student fee money is collected into a fund that is then available for sustainability projects on the Cal Poly Humboldt campus. Idea Papers submitted by students are the beginning of all HEIF sustainability projects on campus. If you want to learn more about HEIF, click here.

You can submit your idea to this google form. We are looking for brief descriptions of the idea, the anticipated outcome of the project, and a general budget proposal. This proposal can be adapted from class projects and be in partnership with other students, faculty, or staff. Some of our most successful projects have been collaborative! (Only students may submit.)

Please email heif@humboldt.edu if you have any questions.
