Dear colleagues,

A new campus tradition is coming to Humboldt State. Starting Friday, March 13, HSU will be launching Green & Gold Fridays. Students, staff and faculty are encouraged to wear green and gold or HSU apparel on Fridays as a way to boost school spirit. All campus community members who dress accordingly can stop by the UC Quad for free cookies from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Participants can also stop by the Bookstore and receive 10% off HSU clothing items. In addition, check out the clearance items for some great deals! Go Jacks!

This event is part of a campus-wide push to increase student engagement. Other initiatives include the “Buzz Boards” that have popped up this week and reinstating Homecoming next semester, among other things.

During the Fall 2019 Welcome Address on August 19, President Jackson expressed his desire to increase the university’s visibility, “My goal is to have everyone out there one day proudly wearing our green and gold and showing just how prominent we are as a university in our community.”
