Friends and Colleagues,

I have approved additional informal time off for Tuesday, December 24, and we will close most campus offices for the entire day.

This informal time off is in addition to that already granted by the Governor, and allows for a full day off for most HSU employees. Those who had planned for a full day off will not need to use accrued leave to be paid for the day.

The option was just recently offered to campuses by the CSU Chancellor's Office, and I heartily support the idea. It's an extra, well-deserved "thank you" for the outstanding work you do on behalf of our students.

The campus will need a limited number of essential personnel to work that day. If you believe you fall into that category, please check with your supervisor. Those assigned to work will be able to make arrangements with their supervisor for an informal day off before June 30, 2014.

Please enjoy this additional holiday time to relax and spend time with family and friends. I look forward to working with you again in the new year.
