Here are some important Fall 2022 Commencement updates:

Student Registration

Student registration to participate in the Fall 2022 Commencement ceremony is open! Eligible Summer and Fall 2022 grads received an email on September 22 providing them a registration link as well as important Commencement information including how to order regalia from Herff Jones. Reminder emails have been, and will continue to be, sent as we reach the deadlines and get closer to the event.

Student regalia orders are due by Friday, October 21.

Student registration to walk in Fall Commencement is Wednesday, November 9. 

If students have any questions, please direct them to email grad@humboldt.edu. Let them know that the best source for up-to-date information on Commencement is on commencement.humboldt.edu. 

Ceremony

Cal Poly Humboldt's Fall 2022 Commencement ceremony will take place on Friday, December 16 in Lumberjack Arena. An All-College ceremony is planned for the afternoon. The ceremony time has yet to be determined and will be based on student registration and participation. 

Ceremonies will be livestreamed so that families, friends, and the campus community can watch and help graduates celebrate their big moment. There will be a link on humboldt.edu the day of the event. A video recording will be available online after the ceremony.

Faculty and Staff Participation

Faculty and staff who would like to walk in the processional and be seated in the faculty/staff section must register their participation by Friday, November 18. There will be up to 80 available seats for faculty and staff. More information to come soon regarding when and where to show up the day of the event. 

Those needing to order regalia can do so with Herff Jones. The deadline to order regalia to be received in time for the event is Friday, October 28.

Employees are needed to assist on the day. Those who would like to work Fall Commencement are asked to make arrangements with their supervisor and submit their interest and availability by Friday, November 18. Information regarding shift assignments will be shared closer to the event. 

Guest Entry and Health Requirements

Students are being asked to RSVP the number of guests that they will be bringing to Commencement. Guest tickets are not required at this time.

In order to be compliant with the California State University COVID-19 Vaccination Mandate, anyone accessing campus events or facilities who is over the age of 12 must be either fully vaccinated for COVID-19 (including a booster shot) or have tested negative for COVID-19 within 72 hours of coming to the Cal Poly Humboldt campus.

All plans are subject to change based on the status of the pandemic, and additional regulations may be required based on Humboldt County Public Health and University health and safety guidelines. 

Students, staff, faculty, and guests must perform a wellness self-check just prior to coming to campus. If they are feeling ill, have symptoms of COVID-19, or have potentially been exposed to someone with confirmed or suspected COVID-19, we are requesting that they not attend the Commencement events.
